Just a free verse I scribbled around 2019; consider it a poem, consider it a song – either way, you won’t be wrong!

Let go, my heart; set the bird free.

Set the bird free; selfish not you be. 

Let go, my heart; set the bird free.

Set the bird free; life-giving water, you be.

Love, lust, hate, anger, resentment, doubt,

Let it fade, my love; set thyself free.

Set thyself free; in here and now you be.

Let go, my heart; set the bird free.

Bear insult, bear pain, Bear injury, 

Harbour no covet to dwell in thee.

Just let it all be and set it all free.

Let go, my heart; set the bird free.

Stand still like a mountain.

Flow like a river, Let thyself free, 

Let all things just be; set the bird free.

Let go, my darlin’; set the bird free.

Set the bird free. Love and peace you be,

With gratitude in thee, let it all just be.

Let go until God’s Silence you be.

Let go; my heart set the bird free.

Let caterpillar out of the chrysalis.

Iridescent butterfly you be,

Let it all go until Bliss alone you see,

Let go; my heart set the bird free.

Drinking Ocean with a fork,

No such faux pas commit thee,

Let go; my heart set the bird free.
